This course has been developed at a time when “conflict
sensitivity” has become an important aspect of the work of
development and humanitarian programmes. The course examines
conflict sensitivity from a transformative perspective and
explores the dynamic relationship between development and
humanitarian interventions and conflict. It raises the key
issues that need to be taken into consideration in
developing a transformative approach and offers ways to
design programmes that foster peacebuilding even in the
midst of violence.
Course aims:
This course will expand the knowledge and understanding of
the concepts of conflict sensitivity and identify its
limitations and its potential. It will identify ways in
which conflict sensitivity can be further developed to
ensure a conflict transformative approach.
