Action Asia Peacebuilders Forum 2008

25 January 2009

"The second ACTION Asia Peacebuilders forum (October, 2008, Nepal) hosted over 120 peacebuilders from across Asia and the world. It was a great opportunity for peace practitioners to meet each other, to share their experience and practice, to learn from each other and together, but also to support peace activities and inspire new initiatives and actions for conflict transformation.

The forum offered a variety of workshops and topics, including; women empowerment and gender, traditional peacebuilding mechanisms, spirituality and trauma healing, learning in peacebuilding, and peacebuilding and education. The keynote speech was given by Simon Fisher on 'Whose peace, whose building?'

Energy and creativity emerged from joint discussions and solidarity in the struggle for peace."
