European Centre for Conflict Prevention/ Dublin

Co-facilitation of the European Centre for Conflict Prevention's European Conference on 'The Role of Civil Society in the Prevention of Armed Conflict'.

GTZ (German Technical Cooperation) Crisis Prevention and Conflict Transformation Programme/ Yemen

In 2002 RTC was asked to write a conflict analysis report on two districts in Yemen with high levels of violence. Following the report RTC was asked to run a five-day workshop in Yemen bringing together the following groups:

The workshop, which was conducted in Arabic, introduced participants with different tools and concepts in the field of conflict transformation and crisis prevention.

Foundation for Tolerance International (FTI)/ Kyrgyz Republic

RTC was invited to lead a 10-day conflict management training for FTI and their partner organisations from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The training aimed to enhance existing local capacities for working in the field of conflict prevention in the Ferghana Valley, a region with high conflict potential. At a later stage RTC staff facilitated a workshop to increase the effectiveness and impact of FTI in its conflict transformation and peace building work through a programme and organisational strategic plan.

Government of Switzerland/ Switzerland

Conflict analysis training for 27 prospective and actual observers and monitors for Swiss and UN missions overseas.

Tearfund/ UK

A one day workshop on conflict sensitivity in disaster management for staff from Tearfund's major programmes in Africa and Afghanistan. The participants of the workshop included Desk officers and local project management staff from Liberia, Sierra Leone, Great lakes, Sudan, Afghanistan, plus two people from Tearfund's head office. 

Kachoke Madit/ London

This was a one day training/reflection meeting requested by Kachoke Madit. The aim was to help them review progress to date in their work for dialogue in the Northern Uganda conflict. Other organisaitons that attended were conciliation Resources and ARLPI (religious leaders association, based in Uganda).
