Tailor Made Training

Liberia 2010RTC is an established and reputable provider of training tailored to respond to meet the needs of organisations and governments worldwide. RTC specialises in the provision of training in conflict transformation and conflict sensitive approaches, drawing on the tested tools and methodologies that have been developed and refined since 1991.

All of our training covers a wide range of tools and activities that are essential to understanding and working in conflict. We do not provide off-the-shelf responses. Our training has three key areas of focus:

1. Working in conflict:

This includes conflict analysis; dialogue, mediation and negotiation; linking policy to practice; strategic planning and intervention; and community approaches to building peace.

2. Conflict sensitive approaches to humanitarian and development assistance:

The provision of assistance to any community runs the risk of creating or exacerbating existing conflicts, or missing opportunities to strengthen positive relationships and community cohesion. This is a reality both in situations of violent conflict as well as more stable situations. As part of this RTC can provide training in scenario forecasting, strategic and operational planning, and integrating conflict sensitive approaches into project and programme work.

3. Training for trainers:

RTC designs and delivers tailor made Training for Trainer (T4T) programmes to enable your organisation to train others either within your organisation or as an intervention within your projects. The learning methodology emphasises practice based learning under the guidance of experienced conflict transformation trainers. We train trainers in skills and strategies for working in conflict and conflict sensitive approaches to humanitarian and development assistance and  integrate these with specific target group considerations (such as women, youth or local government).

All Training for Trainers programmes include the following cross-cutting skills development based on sound principles of working with adults:
